How has your week been? Finally in the shop, we have managed a bit of a break from deliveries and have had a sort out and a tidy up (yes I know you will all be relieved)!

As I write the weather is a bit dark and gloomy (albeit hot) so to cheer us up I have added a recipe from The Glucose Goddess – a sweet nibble that won’t spike those glucose curves – Salted nutty chocolate bites.

Importance of home Staging
To continue our conversation regarding our most recent blog, “The Importance of Staging” I thought its interesting to see the before and after of a dated wooden kitchen given a painted make-over – lifting the overall look and feel of the property.

See the after picture below……The biggest bonus is that the countertop no longer looks so pink because the orange wood stained cabinets pulled out the pink beige in the granite. Now the look is more balanced.Still a timeless look and feel but with a modern inexpensive update.

I’m obsessed with The Glucose Goddess and am currently listening to her first book on Audible. See below for a sweet treat that won’t spike your glucose curves.

Salted Chocolate Nut Brittle
“High cocoa content chocolate is rich in magnesium among other minerals. Magnesium helps with relaxation, sleep hormone balance as well as increased energy levels.” So it’s a win win.
I know what I’m doing this weekend.

Ingredients
150g 70% best-quality dark chocolate, broken into pieces30g shelled pistachios20g walnuts, roughly chopped1⁄2 teaspoon sea salt
Method
Line a medium baking tray with baking paper. Place the broken-up dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl and set it over a saucepan of simmering water (making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water). Stir from time to time, until the chocolate has completely melted.Pour the melted chocolate into the prepared baking tray and spread it out to a thin, even layer. Scatter the pistachios, walnuts and sea salt all over.Place the baking tray in the fridge and leave the nutty chocolate to set hard (about 30 minutes).Remove it from the fridge and break it into bite-sized pieces. Keep these ready-to-go treats in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
